Build Back Questions
Can my foundation be saved?
Site assessment of structures and foundations. Saving your foundation may be the difference between success or failure to the financial reality of building back. As licensed structural engineers, we provide an independent assessment and a (required) foundation certification of your foundation condition post-fire.
How do I repair my foundation?
If repair is needed, you DO have options. At Level we have extensive experience with repair design and can work with you, as your independent representative to determine the best option for you. At LEVEL, we design hundreds of foundation repairs in the front range annually. We have referral programs with four of the top foundation repair contractors in Colorado.
Build back costs
Being informed of the current cost to rebuild your home will help you make the right decisions. We can provide these estimates, which will help you when working with your insurance company and any federal programs.
What about Grants?
It is possible that your insurance policy hasn’t been adjusted up with inflation and the changes in construction costs. Grants can assist you in making up the difference. Awesome!! But you will need to be armed with designs and cost estimates. We can provide that too.
What if I don’t have my original drawings?
You may not have the original drawings of your home anymore. And it’s possible the city doesn’t either. No worries! The build-back needs to meet new codes anyway. So your semi-custom or full custom home will need to be fully designed for permitting. Our architects and engineers are local and ready to get started with you on your new home design whether it’s on the new or existing foundation.
How do I make the most of my financing?
Moving quickly with design in hand and estimates of construction costs, you will be ready to receive the bridge construction loan to pay for the contractor to build it back. At this milestone, insurance settlements have hopefully been established, along with any grant possibilities. You’re ready to get approved for any remaining financing. Once approved, you are ready to use your licensed professional engineer’s stamped design to obtain a permit – your new home is in sight!
What about working with contractors?
We will work with your contractor! We work with contractors as designers every day. Additionally, if you’re interested, ask about our core and shell build back program through our construction company. This way, you can put in sweat equity with family and friends to save money.
